February 2012 part 2

The first week of February our stake boundaries were realigned and we were put in a brand new ward with 2:00 church BOO!!!!! So we have A LOT of time to kill in the morning before church. One morning the girls got a hold of the camera and started snapping pictures.

Taylor does such a great job with Amanda.Amanda is loved by the whole family and brings such joy to all of us.We found out that Taylor needed glasses because she is nearsighted. Her right eye is 20/70 and her left eye is 20/30.We went and visited Nana Great.
We also visited our new nephew. Taylor hasn't held him yet because she had a little cough when we went to visit.
Amanda and Kael are 4 months 1 day apart. What a difference 4 months makes in the first year.
I was able to take Natalie and Amanda to the zoo to join Taylor on her field trip.

Later that day was their last multi school running club race.Nathan helping Taylor stretch.
Taylor at the start of the race
Nathan at the final 1/4 mile.Nathan finished at #78.Taylor was exhausted after walking around the zoo all day and had a really hard time finishing the race. I jogged/walked with her the last 1/2 to try and motivate her. She was not a happy camper and was completely exhausted. She did not want to have her picture taken.Nathan had his last basketball game of this winter season. They had a great season 7 wins and 1 loss (just by a few points too) They came from behind to win a couple of the games.
Post season pizza party at Peter Piper Pizza.
Coach awarding Nathan his medal and talking about his stats.Coach talking about the end of the game when Nathan got aggressive and fought to make sure he kept the ball while a defender tried to take it away.Demonstrating

February 2012 part 1

Previously I have referred to the toys on Amanda's car seat as her "friends" . I captured her holding the hand of one of her "friends" one day.

A cute random picture of Amanda playing that shows how strong she is getting. There was another multi school race in early February but this time Taylor decided not to participate. The girls played on the playground instead while we waited for the race to begin.Nathan participating in the race (the one wearing all blue)Rehydrating after.Showing he placed #85. I was proud of Nathan for finishing. He had a cramp in his side most of the race and did have to walk a couple times, so he wasn't as pleased with his results.Nathan received his Bear Badge at our pack Blue and Gold Banquet. He is going into the Bear Cave to take on the "Bear" and receive his badge.
One of the scouts is holding up Nathan's shoe that was thrown out of the cave by the "bear".Happy that Nathan survived the "Bear".
Receiving his silver and gold arrows.
Me receiving the Mom award. I do have to say I think the BSA program is smart to recognize the Mom's when the boys receive their big awards.
Amanda's "You talking to me?" pose. :-)Another cute picture on her 4 month birthday.
We went on a family hike on a Saturday after Nathan's 8 am basketball game. We headed to a 3 mile hike at Usery Pass called the Wind Cave Hike.

The girls were done about 1/2 way up so Preston headed back down with them and I continued on the hike with Nathan and his buddy Hayden.

On Valentine's day this year it was also the 100th birthday for the state of Arizona. The kindergarten teachers handed out these temporary tattoos. The morning of Valentine's Day we had waffles with strawberries and cool whip. The kids all got valentine goodie bags.
Preston and I along with Natalie and Amanda went out to lunch and then we headed to the hospital to meet our new Nephew Kael.
He is adorable. Kael is the first boy cousin on Preston's side that shares our last name. So now some pressure is taken off of Nathan to pass on the family name :-).
